Registration of Birth

If child born overseas (Out Side India) to the Indian national, birth registration is mandatory for child. This process can be initiated along with Fresh Passport application for minor or apply separately under miscellaneous services.

Note:  The applicants are advised to go through the provisions of Indian Citizenship Act, 1955 and the rules framed there under before submitting the application for grant of Indian Citizenship.

Documents required

  • Fill in application form at http://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/
  • Copy of online application for registration of birth
  • Birth certificate from hospital/doctor
  • Registration certificate from Municipality
  • English translation of documents
  • Self-attested copy of passports of parents with copy of visa
  • Marriage certificate self-attested, if spouse’s name is not in the passport
  • Three photos of the child as per photo specification
  • One photo of applicant’s parent
