RESEARCH VISA 

Eligibility of Visa 

Individual research projects can be undertaken in Indian Universities/Institutions of Higher Learning after obtaining a Research Visa. It is necessary that the scholar should be affiliated to a University/ Institution in India and a Certificate in this regard should be obtained and enclosed along with the Application for the Approval of Research Project and Authorization of Visa.

Duration of Visa

Up to 6 months/single or multiple entry
More than 6 months and up to 1 year/multiple entry
More than 1 year and up to 5 years/multiple entry

Documents required

• Original Passport valid for a minimum period of six months
• Two recent Passport size photographs with white/light background showing full frontal view of the face without dark/colored glasses
• Online Visa Application Form to be completed at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in and print & sign for submission to the Embassy.
• Research project draft (copy)
• Form G application for Research Project approval.
• Original letter of admission from a recognized Indian university/institute
• Affidavit of financial support It is a mandatory requirement for all Foreigners arriving on Research Visa to register themselves with the nearest
• Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 14 days of arrival in India

Note: All nationals visiting from Republic of Congo to India need Yellow Fever Vaccination card
